A couple from Western Pennsylvania is awaiting trial in a Pittsburgh federal court after being indicted for engaging in trafficking a minor for sexual purposes.
The couple, which faces charges including conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking and trafficking a minor, is accused of arranging paid sexual encounters involving the minor and forcing the victim to "engage in a commercial sex act," as they traveled in Pennsylvania looking for customers. According to the indictment the couple provided the victim, who was born in 1996, with various illicit substances – including alcohol and marijuana - in the course of committing the offenses. The couple allegedly looked for potential clients on the internet and taught the girl how to seek johns for herself.
Though details are scare, the victim apparently lived with the couple, and was fed and sheltered by her. Details have not been released as to the exact relation the girl has to the accused.
